Demand for Undergraduate Case Competitions

Hi all - new to the WSO forum but had a question for anyone willing to provide their perspective/insights:

-With the increasing competition for entry-level IB jobs and skyrocketing demand for bulge-bracket internships, what are your thoughts on the implementation of an undergraduate IB case competition for Tier 2 schools/non-targets (maybe even some Ivy League Schools/Tier 1/Target Schools for BBs)?

-My thoughts are that even many undergraduates in Target schools are struggling to get their foot in the door and something like this would aid in networking, practical education for the internships, and increase opportunities for those without the extensive network (even for some at Target Schools)? Of course this is given the right partnerships among Talent Acquisition at certain BB firms, schools, etc.

-I would love to hear any constructive critiques, perspectives on demand for the idea nationally, etc.

There are already many existing case competitions, be it stock pitches, M&A, etc.

There are a number of IB case competitions and stock pitch competitions hosted by business schools and organizations throughout the year. Ik a couple schools in Canada have stock pitch competitions. A bank in Toronto had an IB case competition a while ago. If you’re looking to join one, some of the stock pitch comps are over zoom if it helps with travel concerns. The CFA Society also holds challenges open to students if you’re looking to go into research or asset management. Hope this helps.
