Did I get Ghosted???

Been recruiting for a BB shop for the past 3 weeks and was curious about timeline. I talked to all analysts, all associates and the Two VPs on the team. Last convo was August 6th with the VP and haven’t heard anything back. I reached out last week and got no answer so just curious if I got ghosted?? Which I find weird from a BB

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems like you might be experiencing ghosting, which is unfortunately not uncommon in the industry. Here are some insights from previous WSO threads:

  1. Common Experience:

    • Many candidates have reported similar experiences where they were ghosted after final interviews or after being told they would hear back soon. For example, in the thread "Ghosting after interviews," a user mentioned being ghosted by a global BB after a superday and another final interview.
  2. Possible Reasons:

    • Interviewers and HR might be busy, as mentioned in the thread "I am so f***ing sick and tired of banks lying and playing with prospects." Interviewers often have other responsibilities and may not prioritize communication with candidates.
    • Sometimes, internal processes or unexpected delays can cause a lack of communication, as seen in the thread "Getting ghosted 24/7," where a candidate was repeatedly told they would hear back but never did.
  3. Next Steps:

    • Continue to follow up politely. A gentle nudge can sometimes help, as mentioned in the "Getting ghosted 24/7" thread where the candidate had to send multiple reminder emails.
    • Consider reaching out to other contacts within the firm if you have them, such as analysts or associates you spoke with earlier.
  4. Emotional Impact:

    • It's understandable to feel frustrated and disheartened. Many users on WSO have shared similar sentiments, expressing how ghosting can be disrespectful and demoralizing.

In summary, while it does seem like you might be getting ghosted, it's not an uncommon experience. Keep following up and consider reaching out to other contacts within the firm. Good luck!
