Diversity recruiting from non-target chances?

I am a woman from a non-target in the west coast (mid tier UC's, U-wash) with a 3.9GPA (just finished freshman year and am a rising sophomore). Do I have a chance to get into diversity programs since I'm from a non-target? I have no internship this summer but I have leadership role in a finance club on campus. Do I need to know people or network to get into diversity programs? I currently have 0 connections so is that bad?

And do EB's or smaller boutique shops do diversity programs? Coming from a non-target with no connections I feel like I have a higher chance at a boutique lol but correct me if I am mistaken. Also when the apps open?

Sorry if this sounds stupid I did not know diversity recruiting/programs were a thing until recently and don't know much about them still. Any response will help, thanks!

Point of diversity programs are to help minorities especially in non target schools, you definitely have a chance as BBs, EBs are where the tryhards go

Thank you for the response. Do I need to have connections in order to apply? When do I apply? Sorry if this sounds stupid

I’m also a rising Sophmore I’m a POS so I’m also going to try applying for diversity programs. From what I’ve heard on this board diversity is significantly easier than normal recruiting and have high offer rates as long as your a strong candidate. The EBs are a bit harder but still easier than regular recruiting, I heard one person said how they applied at a EB diversity with 120 applicants and 20 got interviews and 5 got offers, that’s pretty damn good for an EB

I'm a woman at a no name school, GPA 3.8, got into 4 diversity programs at BBs and EBs that converted to offers. Just have really strong HireVue's, cover letters, and network for the programs and you will have a good chance of getting in.

So you do need to network and have connections? How did you go about networking, if you don't mind me asking?

You don't necessarily have to network, but it helps. When you have phone calls with them, they usually tell you that we have a program for women/sophomores and then send you the link. Or you could mention to them that you are interested in exploring more opportunities and they'll connect you with HR

How did you go about the EB's, I did't think they had sophomore programs?
