Does being a LinkedIn weirdo enhances your chances?

Today again I saw some kids writing a 15 sentence essay about how grateful they were about some online networking events.

Of course everyone seems to buy their thing with hundreds of likes and… what now?

It’s not the first time that I have seen this type of post and wanted to know what do you guys think about it. It really seems sketchy to me..

Not sketchy, just cringe. People want to pat themselves on the back and crave external validation. Folks in this industry are motivated by prestige, so they want to flex their prestigious "spring weeks" on us peons.
