Does resume push really works now for analyst positions?

The market is competitive right now. Got my resume forwarded to HR, from VP to MD Level at 3 banks and all received phone screening the next day. Regardless, of how promising these HR folks on the phone are, did not receive a single in-person interview.

Am I the only one, some rejections are hand-typed from HR saying the “pool” is too competitive. Too many laid-offs and the market is full of skilled workers.

Anyone want to share their success stories?
