English speaking IB internship in Frankfurt?
Basically, one of my friends has done an internship in a small MM boutique in Frankfurt and he didn't need to speak German.
I was wondering what's the real situation with other firms in Frankfurt (bulge brackets, elite boutiques, BIG 4, etc.). Can someone confirm?
Do you need to speak some sort of German? German is not needed only during the internships? No German is necessary until associate level?

I am currently interning in Frankfurt as a non-german speaker (I don’t speak a word).
GS offers internship to non German speakers as does Credit Suisse, Lincoln International and Triton Partners. You can forget about Evercore, Rothschild, Lazard, MS, JPM, BAML. It’s hard to find an internship in Germany if you don’t speak german.
Lazard, Rothschild no chance - never saw anyone (at least conversational)
Evercore only for fire drill hiring - saw one case
Rest of BBs- only if you are female
What could be possible: DB, BNP, SocGen
And UBS also requires German
And BCG and the big 4
Deloitte Germany offers also English speaking positions. I heard also EY accepts English speakers for certain roles. On the other hand KPMG and PwC are less likely to hire non-German speakers according to my experience and LinkedIn searches
GS, JP and BAML work if you have a good background
You don’t need german for the french banks either (SocGen, CACIB) not sure about bnp
