Quick dilemma, I'm currently doing an internship for this summer. Earlier in the year, I was looking for a few summer positions and pretty much networked with a lot of people and my resume was circulated by the individuals I networked with.
So earlier today I went to check my email, and one of the guys who received my resume just got back to me. He's a VP at a BB saying
"I received your resume regarding interest in an internship. Please contact me if you would like to discuss.
Regards, XXXX"
Well I have an internship now but, how would I go about leveraging this in hopes of getting a part time internship during the fall or spring semester?

Is what you're doing right now different from what this potentially new company or he specifically does? Is it the same? Anyway, I'd contact him and tell him that you're doing an internship right now and would very much like to discuss a possible internship at his firm maybe in the fall. You can argue that you'd like to go into a different team to do something new (if he does something different) or really like the job and would like to gain further insights into the job at his company. Chances are he'll appreciate a guy who already has some interning experience under his belt.

Right now my internship is with a AM firm, working directly with a few portfolio managers. The guy who emailed me is working in wealth management. Still relative to what I'm currently doing.
Generally AM>WM... I don't even associate the BB part with WM. BB is more relevant for investment banking imo.
During undergrad I did WM at Merrill Lynch and while the name is nice to have as an internship, the role was boring and unimpressive. I think one of the most "exciting" things that I did was to review a bunch of legal and financial statement documents for an audit... well managers actually get really emotional during those times.
You're right in regards to AM>WM. I just feel since I'm a rising soph, It's pretty much take anything I can come across.
