Financial Analyst Salary in Healthcare

Hey guys,

I have two final round interviews coming up this week in Healthcare corporate finance (F500 Medtech/LifeScience and Healthcare Facility) - mostly FP&A. I was wondering what kind of salary expectations I should have for a position that required 0-2 years experience. I have two degrees (BS in business admin and MS in finance) along with 3 semi-relevant internships. I want to make at least 70k but when asked what my expectations are I always try to start with 75k. I just don't want my answer to this questions hurt my chances so wanted to see what typical expectations are for healthcare FP&A. I know hightech fp&a folks make around 70K so is 75k too high for someone with a masters degree?

What do you mean CFO? CFO's are 2nd in command, so not similar at all. Unless you mean corporate finance.

The Job functions are of a typical FP&A, along with some internal investment (CapEx)

Another similar role I'm interviewing for has some other functions on top of FP&A

Depends which city. I'm in a low COL city, I started at $57k and after a year got promoted and got $65k. I just got a 4% COL adjustment to $67.6k plus an 8% bonus target.

If you're not in NYC, Boston, SF then $70k is pushing it. Even in those cities I think my company is below $70k for entry level.

F100 biotech/life sciences/healthcare company for reference.

Thanks. I just see different salaries for different industries and companies so can't always tell what to expect. I interviewed at Lockheed Martin a few months back and their FP&A salaries started at 47k, which is pretty pathetic for such a company.

I gave HR a salary expectation of 75k and now not sure how I should play my hand before my final round interview (This is for a leading life sciences company). Glassdoor shows 55K-95K for Fin Analyst (75k avg) so I just wanted to start with a high target so even if I get negotiated down, I end up at around 70k. Can this backfire in any way? And this is in a very high COL city
