Ghosted after I got a boutique offer

So I'm in a weird spot.

I had 2 rounds of interviews and got an offer at a boutique investment management firm. They said on the Friday after my final round they'd send me documents the following week regarding the specifics. Next week I wait, don't see anything, and wait until Friday when I email them asking for an update regarding the paperwork (thought it might be too pushy to email them earlier in the week).

So on Friday they email me saying they forwarded me the offer Monday, and send it over again, but it says the offer expired Wednesday in the letter. I sign and turn it in ASAP. I don't hear back, and now it is Tuesday of the following week today. I sent the analyst who interviewed me and the director an email apologizing for the delayed offer response and asking for an update, saying I didn't see the offer. It's been a few hours and I have not heard back.

I literally did not get the initial email, I checked through my inbox, spam, archive, and deleted emails but I had not received anything. But in the forwarded offer it says the analyst sent it Monday, maybe it got stuck in an outbox or something. What should I do? I feel like calling might put them on the spot, but idk what to do. Just give up?

Thank you- I realize there is no harm in trying to get through and explain the situation, will regret it if I don't try. Hopefully this works out. Thanks, this is reassuring.

100% agree with this. They liked you for the role, hence why they offered you the position. Don't lose out on a good offer over a miscommunication. Call them up, and explain your exact thought process (you did everything correctly btw):

1. They said they would send over the offer next week. You waited until week end as you didn't want to be rude or rush them.

2. By week end you still had not heard from them, so you immediately reached out. You had checked all your inboxes multiple times to confirm the email was never sent to you. This happens sometimes, it happened recently to me (not for anything nearly as important as an offer letter).

3. You reviewed the offer letter once you got it, and noticed the clause stating it was a 48 hour exploding offer.

4. Now, you still want the position and simply want to accept.

To be honest, something isnt quite right here. There is a reason a recruiter calls you or follows up via email once the written offer is in. Not sure what they were thinking there.

The only issue is at this point when your offer exploded they may have extended the offer to the backup candidate. Either way sorry you are in an unfortunate spot despite not making a single error.

So I resolved the issue, kind of funny.

So I tried calling 2 times today (morning and noon, and left a voice-mail). I got a call back that apparently they have been responding but either there is an issue on their side or my .edu email has been filtering out their messages. I will be getting started next Monday!!

Thanks for the help :)
