Goldman Sachs Application Status: Skillset Match

I applied to a few jobs via the GS website. Was't expecting much, but I noticed that the status of one application is "Skillsket Match". Does this mean I am in contention for an interview? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Goldman Sachs Portal - Skill Set Match For Application

There is a complete lack of clarity when it comes to the "skill set match" status on the Goldman Sachs application portal. Some uses equate the skillset match to the wait list and some believe that it is essentially a rejection. Our users shared their thoughts below.

Catthegreat - Equity Capital Markets Associate:
It took three weeks of "skillset" status limbo before a VP reached out directly. Said an urgent need came up and they were looking to move on the position asap. This was in their AM group. From day of application to VP contact 2+ months lapsed. I'm assuming the hr marks the "able" resumes for if/when the need becomes available. Not an assuring outlook but probably a realistic one. Best thing is to forget it. Plenty more fish in the sea to take your "able" resume to.

Imsurance - Real Estate Analyst:
The alternative to skillset match is "application no longer being considered". Probably means HR deemed you didn't meet minimum criteria to fill the role.

Source: Received 1 "skillset match" and 1 "no longer being considered" for 2 jobs I applied to last week

Yeah, the status was changed last Friday. I'm hoping they are still making final decisions on interviews

Yup I had applied for a few openings as well and for two roles my status has changed to skill set matched one changed on 08/08/2017 and the other changed 08/18/2017. I still cannot fathom whether it even means something substantial or not.

No changes in status as of today. I think the system will just keep me here.

At least they gave my resume a look, I guess

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the input. I've already been looking elsewhere, but good to know that I might receive a pleasant surprise down the road.

the status is still there. Another role I applied for switched to "Skillset Match" last month. No follow-up on either.
