Got an interview as a Euro Government Bonds Junior Broker at TP ICAP
To put you in to context:
I'm currently a first year analyst working in Real Estate at a consulting firm in a Capital Markets team (think Colliers, CBRE, JLL, Savills, etc...). Compensation is decent, WLB is quite good, problem is I don't enjoy the work that much.
In addition to this I have the CFA Level I and currently working towards the CFA Level II (I have the exam in may 2025). Ideally I would like to get an opportunity at something like Equity Research or an Investment Analyst role (either equities or fixed income), but also open to other potentially interesting career paths.
Given all this, I have an interview coming up with TP ICAP as an EGB Junior Broker and wanted to know what people's opinions were on an IDB career and the possibility of moving in the future to an Investment Analyst role (probably fixed income given I will be dealing with EGB's) or Equity Research or what the most likely exit opportunites are.
