How does one stay connected with people at a past firm without being an annoyance?

Current undergrad here. I'm interning at a different firm next summer than the one I worked at last summer but loved the experience at the firm I interned at and made good connections with some junior and senior people. These people expressed a genuine willingness to stay in touch, but I haven't done so since my internship as I can't find a good reason to reach out to them again. I don't want to waste their time and sending best wishes on holidays feels formulaic and a bit fake. How do you all stay connected with people at a past firm and how often do you reach out? Thanks in advance.

In a few months, just reach out and ask if they’re available to catch up. Not that difficult just keep in touch every now and then just to see what’s going on in their lives and how they’re doing.

Don’t do any of that “Happy New Year” fake stuff - everyone sees through it and no one is impressed. Think it’s better to just pick up the phone and have a conversation - and it’s easy for you too since you already worked there so have plenty to talk and catch up on.

All that being said, if you really don’t feel like just talking to them, then don’t bother since people are usually good at picking up other peoples vibes. Can do more harm than good
