I am totally lost when it comes to my career (Ivy League grad student)
I am an MPA graduate from Columbia, with a specialization in economic policy (we cover micro/macro, calculus, econometrics, and finance). I graduated recently and have no idea about what I want to do or where I would fit in. I am 27.
Prior to Columbia, I worked in M&A at no-name boutiques. I want to know what options someone with my background has.
I am open to all sectors in finance, with the exception of consulting. Also, with my course being MPA, I would also be open to the public sector.
Honestly, I do not even know what my options truly are or the kind of sectors I would be a good fit for. Me being open to all possibilities has further confused me.
A few things about me -
1. I'm not very eager to return to banking, however, wouldn't mind it.
2. My strength is my people skills, and would like a role where that aspect comes into play frequently
3. Money is definitely a primary motivator
I request readers to list out any roles/thoughts that would be relevant to my situation. I would also love to answer any further questions that would allow you to help me.
Thanks!
