I’m super ignorant

I’m a vet a year or so removed from separation. I’ve resolved that I want to get an MBA and THINK I’d like to leverage that into a career in IB and subsequently a buy side job. However, I acknowledge that I’m super ignorant and just trying to learn. I feel confident about MBA admissions so I’m not trying to put the cart ahead of the horse, simply trying to feel productive in preparing for a new industry. What resources would you suggest to increase my knowledge/skills?

I’m asking more along the lines of how can I learn more about my target industries. I’m well past undergrad. The post limitations made it hard for me to clarify.

I’ve been working Google. Sorry, this was kind of a poorly written post. I’m asking for good resources. I’ve been reading WSJ and Investopedia. I’m just asking how to become more financially literate. Specifically I’m asking for relevant resources. Teach me to fish, if you will.

Dont learn about this industry in depth before you get into your MBA. I am sure you with your veteran status that you will not have difficulty un at least going to a T10, and as a veteran, MBA IB recruiting will be a joke. (They consider you diversity so you recruit ahead of time with all the women, LGBTQ, Hispanic/Black etc)

Spend all your time getting an admission from the MBA first. For the rest of the time, I highly recommend watching PeakFrameworks or Rare Liquid on Youtube for a high level introduction to the world of finance. Once you get your admissions from the MBA, you will have plenty of time to prepare for recruiting. Your vet community should basically hand hold your way through recruiting.

For now, try to get into the best mba possible and just dabble around Youtube for more digestible level of information and slowly build up.
