Incoming Sophomore Curious About Recruitment

Hi ya'll,

I am a rising sophomore at a non-target school currently interning at a Factoring firm for my summer internship. I was wondering how far a freshmen internship will get you ahead of the curve in recruiting. I was also wondering what date should I start to network with banks for my Junior summer analyst internship, my mentors in the IB club i'm a part of suggested I should start networking in my sophomore winter break because recruiting starts sophomore spring. Is this accurate, and if I do this will it keep me ahead of the curve even being from a non-target school or do banks not even recruit that early.

Thank you for your help.

It's definitely helpful. And you should start networking as soon as possible. Keep in mind, a lot of bankers have several college kids trying to network through them so the more they know you, the quicker they will be willing to go to bat for you. Especially, if you consistently update them on your progress. Good luck mate.
