International Student OPT --- "Directly Related To Your Major"
International student here. I'm a computer science + math (not applied math) double major. I'm afraid that my major can't get me OPT and H1B in the future since "Optional Practical Training (OPT) is temporary employment that is directly related to an F-1 student’s major area of study." All the international students from my school used ECON major to apply for banking OPT. Any thoughts?

You won't have any issues. The person who approves your OPT is a school official. They are mostly pretty relaxed and will waive you the OPT. The gov't trusts their word etc, so it is pretty much just a formality. Best of luck!
..
You wont get the extension if you studied tech/engineering and went into finance. You can get H1b but that’s the luck of the draw
Hopefully your firm has a foreign office
