Internship Offer revoked?

Okay, so I interviewed at a very large bank as a paid intern. The person who was interviewing me, gave me a verbal agreement 2 months ago that I would be given the internship and I was told to contact her later close to the summer to get a work schedule from her. I had emailed her 4 times, the most recent was a day ago inquiring about the schedule and the date I start, but I haven't got a reply. I called in, and her secretary told me that she was busy and in a meeting and to leave my phone number and she will call me back, which she never did. I don't know what is going on. She was very serious about hiring an intern when I interviewed. Before when I emailed her, she would reply within half an hour. What should I do? I am confused and worried at the same time.

You are overthinking it. Wait for the response. It's definitely not revoked. If she is not in HR but actually working she might be really busy. Don't stress so much!

For future reference, don't relax until you get something in writing. It would have been better to get something in writing months ago (obviously). Now, you just have to wait until she gets back to you.

Shit, she emailed me back today saying that they don't need an intern for May/June and if I still wanted to work there, I would have to wait till July to start. No specific date was given to me which day in July I would be able to start working. Which means I would be out of a job for two months. We agreed during the interview that I would be able to start in May. I am disappointed, pissed off and worried, because it seems like they change their minds really quick. They have not given me a specific date, which means that they will probably change their minds again. I am worried that if I wait till July, they will tell me they don't need an intern at all.

What should I do guys? Should I start interviewing again and try to find another internship that is more stable? What places should I try to call?

I'm pissed off because I wish they would have let me known earlier that they don't need someone for may and june. I would have appreciated their honesty, because it would have given me more time to find another job. Instead of not telling me till the last minute and now I have to call other banks before the summer starts. 3 types of firms I was thinking about calling:

1.No-name Boutiques 2 No-name PE firms 3.PWM

How would it be to get a internship at a no-name boutique or PE? How would an internship at these two places compare to lets say a large bank's PWM division?

Thanks guys. Sorry for the rant. I am just so angry right now.
