Investment Banking Written Tests

Hey so I've heard for full time recruiting, particularly for analyst positions at middle market banks, its not uncommon to have a written assessment or finance/accounting test. How difficult are these and how much preparation would you suggest (just reviewing intro to accounting, basic valuation, or more?)

lol WUT i feel like this is proabably made up, or at least applicable only to a very select few institutions investment banks hire people from all types of backgrounds, so it wouldn't make sense to test someone on a skill set they didn't have eg. testing computer science majors in accounting

i too think that it's probably not all that common if we're talking middle market though, it's probably just a set of basic questions an accounting course in college should suffice

.

This actually happens with a few MM IBs. Baird and HW are a few places that do that for Superdays. There may be some others as well.

How difficult are these tests? Is taking intro to accounting and finance sufficient? I've also taken an investment banking class at my school
