Is it hard to get an internship these days?
Is it harder in recent times to get an internships? Especially this summer? I feel like they are rarer and harder to come by than before. I go to a T20 university and a lot of people I know cannot find anything this summer.

I agree, the market is terrible. However there are still some very good "boutique" like opportunities out there.
It's terrible right now, I've literally sent cold emails and applied to over 150 places and have yet to land an offer, and I'm not limiting it to IBD either, pretty much anything related to finance I've applied to.
Keep applying. 150 isn't even good enough. I applied to over 400 summer internship positions and I've only heard back from 10 of them. You have a better shot at smaller firms for whatever you're looking to get into.
Yeah I'm still applying, I have a list of the regional boutiques in my area (NYC), over 500 banks to cold email lol
I wonder how many WSO people here haven't landed a position for the summer. How are people at your colleges doing?

Even Harvard doesn't guarantee a job in IB. Sometimes it takes more that just your school.
Yeah but it sure makes it a lot hell easier for internships lol. If you just put in a little bit of effort at Harvard you can get top internships. srs
