Junior Summer.. Yet to land internship, what do I do?

So, i am really just in a horrible situation right now. I failed to land an offer through my schools recruiting process and have been unsuccessful cold-calling/emailing/applying on websites. I have tried contacting alum, but similarly no success. It is getting very late into the game, today is May 10 and since most internships start the first week of June, i feel like I am completely screwed. I lately have been skipping right to asking if they have any opportunities available this summer when cold-calling, as I feel extremely crunched for time.

What do I do? If I do not land a job this summer.. I inevitably will be very far behind my competition in landing a full-time offer (I am looking to get into I-Banking or S&T). Should I just network all summer and do personal research or something?

I wouldn't give up. My friend literally started sending out e-mails a couple days ago, and found an F500 that had a few spots open for their financial analyst internship and is having an interview in a couple days thanks to HR working with him.

If you can't find anything at all job related this summer I'd suggest taking some easy courses at your UG over the summer to boost your GPA/get ahead. You could also check to see if there are any finance/econ professors staying over the summer that you could help with research. Community service never hurts either. -
