LinkedIn and Internship Dilemma

I recently got laid off an internship due to fit mismatch. The length was less than a month however I did write an equity research report (was working on it even prior to starting). The MD is a huge narcissist. They have recently asked me to remove the experience from my LinkedIn even though I do not have a contractual obligation to. Do you think it’s fair for them to do so?

I wrote an equity research report for them as per industry standards. As part of the application process I made a report for 3 weeks which during my time there I was asked to improve on.

The report wasn’t exactly what he wanted but the catch here is that he was overseas for personal reasons for 75% of my time there so there was no guidance. I had to work off what he said initially which was pretty vague.

Secondly, on my LinkedIn under job description, I stated what the companies rotations include and he emailed me and said this is not what he wants to represent which I complied with.

The day I got removed, it was when I took a day off to take care of my mother who just had a surgery. To his dismay, I made a post on LinkedIn regarding something I found interesting and he called me and said I should be home working instead of posting (I clearly had a day off approved from him and I made the post during my free time and quite frankly its none of his business )

I found this to be very toxic and disrespectful at the very least

I have tried to explain the story to the best of my memory and abilities. I did all my work diligently and was very respectful of my MD and colleagues. Do you think I should just ignore their message about me removing the LinkedIn experience? My only issue is possible sabotage as the MD is a bit known in the finance industry in my country although the company is quite small.

Would it be okay keeping it on my resume as that’s my only finance experience?
