M&A career advices
Hi all! I am currently doing an internship in an MM M&A boutique and I feel like this is a good fit for me as a long-term career. Thus, I would like to have advices on how to be perceived as an expert in M&A in the long run: what should be my career path, which firms should I work for, should I obtain certifications (CFA, etc.), etc.
Feel free to give me any advice related to this field!
Thank you.
NB: I am in Continental Europe.
I think the biggest thing you should focus on is going FT then as an analyst making it to Associate. As weird as it sounds if you can make these two leaps and shave a year off of your analyst stint you will establish yourself much better than getting any extra 3 letters behind your name.
But I believe that the firm at which you work will matter in the long run...
Yeah sure shoot for the best firm you can get. I am just saying I think alot of people forget that it doesnt matter if your at GS, MS, JPM if you get canned as an associate.
Even if at BB or EB you are given less responsibilties at analyst/associate levels than at big4 or smaller boutiques?
