Networking at the Senior Associate level

Senior Corp Dev Associate with 5 years of experience, looking to change industries (been in SaaS all along, looking to break into renewables buy-side, corporate or PE). Most networking advice out there is geared towards fresh grads and analysts. What do you think is the appropriate way to network at my level for a new job? I don't have many PE connections as I've been in corporate buy-side & strategy for some time now. I also moved countries so long story short, I am going to have to roll up the sleeves and make some completely fresh connections. Good old LinkedIn messages look promising, but I'm sure there's better ways out there.

I am truly bored by the SaaS world and incredibly interested in Energy. So interested that I am considering getting an MS Engineering joint MBA just to break in. So any advice on this would be appreciated.
