Networking for IB as an older graduate with prior work experience

Hello everyone! Hope to get some advice on how to network for investment banking with a non-traditional background.

To set the stage, after spending 4 years at a non-target college, I failed out. Chalk it up to immaturity and not understanding the value of a college education. I moved home afterward and broke into the financial services industry getting an entry level role at a broker-dealer home office and then moving to an RIA which I have been doing for approximately 4 years. In this time, I have taken some community college courses and saved up enough money to return to my prior college and finish my degree which I will complete by Winter 2020. I have taken a couple IB “boot camp” courses over the last 4 years and am comfortable with basic modeling/accounting concepts and have strong excel skills.

Given my background And Winter 2020 graduation, how should I proceed to network and pitch myself?Should I reach out to current analysts like any other undergrad most of which would be younger than me (I am 28)? Is my prior work experience going to be a problem? I understand the grueling hours and where first year analysts are in the food chain and no work is beneath me even though I have been working for a while. What other questions should I be prepared to answer and what else should I be doing to stand out and get my foot in the door?

Thanks everyone!
