Networking Help - What to say in email?

So I am a long time lurker. Wanted to ask a networking-related question to experienced folks, especially those who have managed to get jobs / interviews with networking - When you have developed a network, what do you do with them when you are not looking for a job. How do you keep them warm for when you actually are in the market for a new opportunity? I was told to check in once in a while. Not sure how you'd do that. What do you say in the email? Especially if those folks are at a senior level, meaning you can't ask them to meet up for coffee or lunch. Thanks.

It doesn't matter what the level of the person you are talking to is, you could always ask them to out to coffee or lunch. They may not be able to, but you can always ask.

One thing to do when you are networking, is if the person met with you, and was a good contact, is to keep them updated on you and what you talked about. If you talked about things that you needed to do to get a job, and you got a job, you could send them an email saying thanks for the advice, it really helped and because of it I got a job at XYZ doing abc. You could even try to leverage a deal between your new firm and the networking person's firm if it's applicable.

If you just want to keep them warm, just send them an email saying hey I saw this article relating to what we have talked about and I thought you might find it interesting, lets keep in touch. blah blah blah.

There's also a ton more topics on here about this very thing. Use the search tool and I'm sure you'll find a bunch.
