Networking in IBD- Is this Appropriate?

Hello all,

I’ve been exhaustively attempting to network within alumni and direct contacts without much luck.

Recently however, I remembered that last summer at the company I interned at, my manager’s boss (think C-suite) was an ex BB partner. (Oversaw bankers development too). Although I knew I wanted to do IBD then, I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to reach out then given this person was so busy . I did get to present my summer project to him and he found it insightful and asked me to forward my analysis to him. I also was formally introduced to him and shared lunch several times. My manager promised me one-on-one time with him but he was always too busy and so i never felt like it was appropriate enough to reach out.

Yet, I wonder now, is it too absurd to give it one last shot now? (It would have been over a year since my internship last summer). Really think I got nothing to lose, but also would not wish to smudge my name.
