No experience, possible to get a full time role?
I graduated in May with a 3.5 GPA from a target school with a degree in Applied Physics. However, I have no experience in the financial sector, as I spent my whole time as an undergrad doing research, but didn't decide until I was a senior that I didn't want to go into academia. So not only do I have no internships, I'm also cut off from a lot of the banks that only want current seniors. Do I have no chance to break into IB? What would be the best way to improve my resume?

Agree. MSF is likely the best route. Not only because it will give him a shot at recruiting again but also because it will help prepping for interviews and provide the finance background needed.
Why IB? Why not quant firms/quant side of BB? Better hours and essentially better pay.
I'm absolutely applying to quant firms as well. Many that I've seen so far want some experience with financial modeling, options theory, etc.
You can get that by writing code on your own/developing a trading strategy vs. IB where work experience trumps all.
With your major, someone will be very interested in bringing you on board regardless of prior experience. Find what gets you going within the industry.
I certainly hope so, I've been sending out a lot of applications for entry-level positions and in the 2 weeks that I've been really pumping them out, I've only gotten 1 phone interview.
What have you been doing for the past 6 months?
Continuing Applied Physics research with my PI at my university. I looked at a lot of quant applications, and several of them wanted a description of any research done as well as links to any peer-reviewed academic papers, so I thought it would be beneficial to my resume to get some more publications.
