Not sure if I messed up my interview, any insight?
Recently had an interview for a BB regarding an S&T role. Everything went well but when talking about whats going on in the markets I didn’t really have an opportunity to discuss what the US is going to be doing with interest rates. It felt like the interviewer was trying to get me to talk a bit about some macro factors but generally I only mentioned tariffs coming out the the US election. Would I get dinged for something like this? Like I said everything else went really well but I’m worried that not talking about rates messed me up
Also for context it was for an equities position not FICC

In summary, while not discussing interest rates might be a minor setback, it’s not necessarily a deal-breaker if the rest of your interview was strong. For future interviews, ensure you cover a broad range of market factors to demonstrate comprehensive market knowledge.
