On the Council, Not Granted Rank of Master

I work at a large company. The nature of my role is such that I constantly (exclusively?) work closely with our top executives. I'm talking 2-3 person meetings, travelling with them, texting, getting drinks at the hotel bar when travelling. I'm one of the first 5-7 people to hear about a company crisis. My career has gone better than my top expectations- I'm getting incredible experience for how (relatively) early I am in my career. It certainly feels like I am "on the council" at my company.

However- my title and comp have not caught up to my level of responsibility. I'm always the lowest ranking person in any meeting by 2-3 levels at least. People in my role would normally be VP or higher, and I'm a few levels beneath that. My hands are tied though- because I'm young, I can't really get a similar role elsewhere. I need another few years of experience to be considered for a similar role. So I am stuck having to hope/"grow into"/wait for the promo. I have not been granted the rank of Master.

If my past self from two years ago knew where I'd be today- my comp, my career trajectory, etc- I'd be ecstatic. At the same time, it is incredibly frustrating to be the lowest level person in my sphere- with the next lowest making double what I am. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Anyone have words of wisdom? I'm realizing that no level of comp will make you happy because the next level is always so close, and is always inhabited by people you think you are more capable than.

To be clear- I'm NOT looking for advice on how to get the promotion- I know it will come. The situation is too nuanced for a thread like this. The advice my prior self would have given is to be grateful for the chance to get so much exposure- that it will lead to great things in my career, the money will come, etc. Now I realize just how deflating it is to perform at a certain level but not get the pay for it.

Champagne problems, for sure- maybe I'm just looking to vent.
