Please Critique My Resume
I'm currently a sophomore at a community college (I got two years for free). I've been accepted and enrolled in a big public university for the next semester and participate in two finance clubs there. My GPA at CC is 3.1 with a major GPA of 3.75. Any criticism would help greatly. Resume
Bump.
Check out topcv or similar cv review websites. Also wso has great resources if you research the threads
Will do, thank you.
hmm is there anyway you can try retaking classes at your cc to boost your gpa? I know cc’d are pretty flexible with grade replacements. As you know cc’s even though nothing wrong with them are heavily looked down upon in the industry and a 3.1 from one is a major red flag imo.
It will marginally help for your first semester in terms of networking and possibly recruiting for internships that you can do like spring semester or fall. As soon as you get your gpa from your tour state school, remove the cc name and gpa from your resume. Make sure to get a 4.0 at all costs.
I should get a 4.0 this semester at CC which would increase my GPA to 3.3. I will look into retaking some courses possibly, the main problem was my first semester I really didn't care and it ended up screwing my GPA. I'm planning on what you are saying with removing it from my resume after graduation. Hopefully if I can get an internship this summer, and become a leader in one of the finance groups, next semester I can remove my highschool and CC as well as some other stuff from my current resume. Is there anything you think I can do right now to make my resume more appealing? I've been able to network and have a reference for a WM internship, but I feel like my current resume will hold me back for this summer.
I could give you someone’s resume who works at Goldman if that would help at formatting , or mine if I take away some info from it
