Portfolio Monitoring Analyst-- Back Office?

I was wondering if this position sounds back-office based on the description, also what the potential career progression would look like (CFA etc.):

As a Portfolio Monitoring Analyst, you will support the Wholesale Banking Lenders in financial monitoring and loan implementation. In this position you will complete accurate and consistent financial statements spreads, quarterly trend analyses, covenant tests, and collateral reviews in accordance with bank spreading standards and wholesale credit policies. Also, you will maintains a compliance monitoring database that tracks credit approval requirements and receipt of customer's financial reporting requirements on behalf of the Portfolio Managers and/or Relationship Managers. In addition you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing loan documents and ensuring the accurate set up of new loans on our servicing system, along with ongoing maintenance activities associated with large balance transactions.

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Basic understanding of credit analysis, administration, and policy and procedures
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to interpret data
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend credit write-ups and loan documentation
