Post-MBA I-Banking w/o Summer Internship

Am curious to hear if anyone has had experience with recruiting for post-mba i-banking associate roles without having done a summer internship? Or has seen it done before? As background, I'm at a top 10 MBA (not HSW), doing my summer internship in real estate PE, and have previous experience in finance (non-banking). Having a change of heart atm...

Would be great to hear if anyone has any advice or thoughts on whether it would be possible to recruit for banking in the fall. Thanks!

No experience but can't imagine it is that difficult. Intern classes are significantly smaller than the full time class. Not to mention not all interns received offers or signed them.

Also, and this is just a thought. It may be easier to recruit for full-time in that your competition is less intense. The kids really cut out for IB already interned and signed offers.

Curious as to what made you think banking is better fit for you than PE? Normally everyone is gunning for the opposite.
