I have seen an interesting job posting for an analyst spot at a trading firm in a very specific sector. I'm wondering how the skills and knowledge gained would translate to other sectors. Would you be pigeonholed in your ability to only find signals in this one sector, or would the broader skill set be able to be applied to a similar role in other sectors should you want to move on at some point? The position is in effect a quant trading analyst. Thanks in advance.
