Questions About Diversity Recruiting: Timeline, Programs, and Strategy

Hi everyone,

I am an Argentinian (Hispanic) freshman at Brown University and pursuing a career in finance and I have a few questions I’d really appreciate some insights on:

  1. What should I be doing to position myself for diversity recruiting opportunities?

    1. Are there specific steps I should take now

  2. Are there any programs I should join or resources I should leverage?

    1. I’ve heard about programs like SEO are good, but these programs are just for networking right

  3. When does diversity recruiting typically begin?

    1. Does the timeline differ from standard recruiting

  4. Does diversity recruiting focus on sophomore internships (summer after sophomore year) or the big summer internship after junior year?

    1. I’ve seen mixed messages about whether it’s targeted at sophomores or juniors, and I’d appreciate clarification.

If anyone has participated in diversity recruiting or has experience with it, I’d love to hear your advice, recommendations, or resources that could help!

Thank you in advance for your insights!
