Relocating to America

Hi Guys, I’m an Assistant Manager at a big-4 firm in Sub Saharan Africa and I’ll be relocating to the states in October. I currently have 3 years of experience in Valuations and Business Modelling at a big-4 firm and 1 year of experience as an IB analyst at a boutique firm in the Midwest. My goal is to earn as much as I possibly can.

Question: 1. What’re the best cities to relocate to for finance professionals? (Excluding NYC) 2. Is there anything I can do to better prepare myself for the move? ie what could make me more competitive in the job market 3. My ideal role would be something in HF, IB or PE - Do I have any chance of landing a role in these industries? Or should I focus on applying to big 4s etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Profile Ethnicity - Black African Region of origin - Southern Africa Language - Fluent in English School - Midsize non-target in the Midwest Qualifications - Passed the CFA level 1 exam GPA - 3.0
