Rising Junior Needs Advice

Hey everyone! For background, I'm a rising junior at a T10/target school having trouble securing an internship for summer 2025. I have a ton of experience working at search funds and PE shops. I've worked at 2 search funds and 2 more LMM/microcap PE firms since last summer.

For context, I had tried to land an internship for my freshman year summer (2023), but nothing stuck for me and I ended up doing research for neuroscience. I tried since summer 2023 to land an internship for summer 2024, but again nothing stuck and I ended up going with a search fund that I had found at the end of May 2024 which I am currently doing. Starting this year, I have been searching for internships for Summer 2025 (at least since Jan 2024 if not before) and nothing has really worked out for me so far. I didn't apply to IB internship roles (I wasn't very interested in them anyways), but I did apply/have been applying to various PE/VC/GE shops since the beginning of this year.

I just finished up a superday last week with a fairly large VC/GE firm, but was rejected even after I thought I had done very well in the interviews. This was particularly upsetting because it seems like all the PE/GE/VC opportunites have died off now. I also have been applying to consulting roles (MBB, big 4, etc) as well - this was my main plan for next summer. I know I still have a ton of opportunities for consulting, but my confidence and motivation has been killed because of my lack of success for the past few years. I know the job market has been tough, but I just feel hopeless at this point and my mental health has been trending downwards throughout this process. I was planning on applying to as many consulting firms for next summer as possible and, if that doesn't work out, do research during the summer and rerecruit for fulltime consulting roles or switch career paths and go to grad school/law school. Any advice for me?
