ltohang^ really? I know someone with a 3.6 that got Jefferies in NYC. 3.4 at a semi-target can't be low enough not to even get boutiques...especially with the school name's reputation in all of the south and midwest.

He is the exception not the rule.

By and large, 3.5 is the cutoff for IB. So in that sense, there is a sharp difference between a 3.6 and a 3.4. However, GPA isn't the sole component of a candidate's consideration. Networking, experience, extracurriculars, personality, etc. are crucial as well. Not to mention your technical knowledge, assuming you land an interview. Case in point, a friend of mine landed an interview at a BB with a 3.4. I think it's important to keep that in mind: your GPA is what it is, nothing you can do. Now it's up to you to prove that you are a capable and hardworking individual.
