Should I assume that I got rejected?
Hi everyone
Last Friday I did my final round interview with a MM bank in NY for an entry level FO IB analyst role and haven’t heard back yet since.
Given that it’s been 3-4 business days since my final round interview, should I assume that I got rejected from the role or is there still a chance? For context, I networked with a couple MDs who forwarded my resume to the hiring team and then got the interview shortly after.
Thoughts?
Wouldn’t assume you’re rejected but definitely keep networking and interviewing with other firms
It honestly varies by firm. Some firms make offers within hours after Superday while some may take up to a week to roll out decisions. I know someone who heard back after nearly 2 weeks.
You are not definitively rejected but it would be good to keep expectations low and continue the process for other firms until you hear back.
Generally, it's within 24 hours. The latest I have seen at banks is 2 days but they were interviewing analysts and associates across two days and were selecting as a group.
2 weeks is more when you give an offer to someone and s/he does not accept because of another better offer or whatever reason, then the second-preference will get a call.
