Should I go to IB/PE/HF or climb the ladder?

I have degrees in accounting/finance at top 10 undergrad schools and graduated magna. A rank of captain in the US army and experience as a financial manager/military intelligence officer. An MBA from a top 15 b-school and a CPA certification. Should I climb the ladder of F100/500 company and eventually rise to the c-suite or head over to IB/HF/PE at a faster rate and potentially earn more money? I appreciate any feedback.
