Should you network with analysts or VPs
For sophomore year applications, is it more important to network with analysts or VPs? I know that analysts are directly involved in the process but i wanted to hear more perspetcives.

Bump. Would also love to know who to network with for off-cycle internships.
Higher level the better
I'd probably say Analysts or Associates. If you get the right VP that has some pull then it's good but at least at my EB a lot of the VPs and Directors are a bit too far removed from the trenches of recruiting and are probably less likely to actually make the effort to push your resume over the edge.
Analysts/Associates are also the ones reviewing the actual resumes and selecting who to interview even if the more senior bankers (VP and up) are doing a lot of the interviewing and have a strong say in the ultimate hiring picks.
Analysts are usually the ones making the de facto superday-invite decisions, at least at most banks
I would disagree. Analysts are good to learn about the culture, work etc. but you want to speak to the highest decision makers possible. Even if not involved in recruiting, if a VP likes you he can just shoot your resume to the analysts and tell them to include you for the superday. The other way around it’s harder.
