State Finance Internship Interview
This is my first post, I'm honored to be a part of this community and can't wait for all of your feedback.
I'm a sophomore at a small state school in Connecticut, I have a 2.8 GPA, (I know this is bad, but my GPA dropped as a result of my having a poor first semester because of ACL reconstruction surgery).
On Monday, I'm interviewing for a Finance summer internship position with the state treasury.
The internship would focus on how the state invests pension funds, manages trust funds, and manages debt.
In December, I emailed someone in the department about the position saying I was interested. I received an email back in March with a link to the application -- I took this as a good sign, that he remembered my interest and bothered to email me. I proceeded to send my cover letter, resume, and letter of recommendation.
I've been in contact with an interviewer and I think things are looking pretty good. She told me that my resume looked good and has had a pretty friendly tone in the emails.
My question for you guys is; what type of questions should I expect for this interview?
Are there any golden interview tips that you could offer that would really help me sell myself as a candidate for this job?
Further to all of this, I'm currently studying abroad, so the interview will be conducted by phone. How do I kill this interview in spite of this circumstance?
Thanks in advance!
