The decision has already been made whether you are moving on/receiving an offer, so it will not change your fate at this point. However, a short and sweet "thank you" e-mail is always a good idea in my opinion. Send a specific e-mail to each individual you interviewed with.

Always say thank you; even if it doesn't help with an offer for a hire, it's easier for them to remember you in the future.

Sometimes, it's also good to send a follow up email once you decide on an outcome. If there was an interviewer who really liked you, the firm rejected you, and you got hired somewhere that might be better, this is the perfect candidate for the follow-up. Let them know what happened, thank them for their consideration, say you think their decision worked out for the best for everyone- and let them know you'll keep their firm in mind in the future.

You want to walk away from a rejection looking really strong- in case you interview with the firm later. A letter like that can do the trick if you're nice (You want to keep the slightest hint of venom or sour grapes out of the letter). The next time you interview with the guy, he's going to be angry as heck if the same (or a new) smarty-pants claims you're not qualified.

You guys are confused.. I just asked should I send a thank you EMAIL to each of the interviewers that emailed me today? They prob wont get back to me about if I landed the job or not until Friday,,
