Switching from Hedge Fund analyst to FX or equity research sales. Any Help please?

I have been an analyst at a small hedge fund for 2 years. I'm 27 years old and wanting to shift into FX sales or a similar sales role. My resume/personality etc is strong, however I have zero sales experience and no Series 7.

What would be the best way to go about this switch? It seems most boutiques only want sales people with lots of established clients. If i was to go to a bank I'm guessing I would have to start on a graduate scheme? Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Maybe research on some level?

Most banks have bespoke research services where clients can get direct access to the research staff that advises our traders, ask them questions, even request custom reports. I would imagine that if you develop a good reputation there and really want to move into sales, it would be a pretty smooth transition. You might even keep the same clients.

Thanks Illi, although I would like to move into sales straight away. Research is driving me insane, I need something with more interaction.

I know I will have to take a step back, which im not too bothered about. My thoughts are sales assistant roles.

But surely there must be firms that recruit entry level sales people directly?
