Target Companies for FT Employment

Hey guys,

I am looking to graduate in 3 years this coming spring. I am currently compiling a list of target companies to apply for. I need your help in coming up with a reasonable list of targets. I have a 3.5 GPA, go to University of Illinois studying Finance, have a F500 Corp Finance internship, a couple leadership positions at school, and Illinois Business Consulting experience.

If you could help suggest good companies and or groups to apply to that would be great. Also if anyone can help me by putting me in contact with the right people that would be a lot of help and I would really appreciate it. I am from the Chicago area and thus want to get my first job in the Chicago area. I am not interested in Investment banking due to the hours, but I do have interest in trading, Asset Management, PE, & consulting.

Basically I want help coming up with a list of places that I could have a chance of getting a job in and would like to hear more about why you recommend that company/division. I have filled in some higher end targets already. For the ones posted, I would like to hear whether or not you think I have a chance getting a job there, and division recommendations within those companies. All thoughts are appreciated.

GE FMP Program = Top notch. Great program to get into. I know they have internships in GE Capital, wouldn't be a bad idea to apply for those. Reasoning: GE Capital would look good on your resume. Good work experience. Source: Interviewed with GE Capital for SA, didn't get the offer, have spoken to numerous people that work in GE Capital...

The FMP program with GE Capital is definitely at the top of my list. I have heard only great things about it and it. If anyone has a contact with any of the Illinois recruiters or management I would appreciate it if you could pass it on to me.

it's nice to see another UIUC student here. What do you mean when you're graduating in 3 years this coming spring? I don't understand that first part.

Anyway, what about Huron/Hitachi/Navigant Consulting? They recruit heavily on our campus but mostly supply chain majors. Also, you can use CapIQ in our market lab and get a list of asset managers or sales & trading firms in the chicago area. That's what I did to cold call investment banks in the NYC area.

DRW Trading is a great place to start as well. GE Capital has a great internship program. But a friend of mine is interning there this summer and he is dumb as bricks. He trades on his personal time though so I would suggest doing this.
