TMT Associate: Got Laid Off Today

I got laid off from a TMT boutique today given deal flow has slowed down so significantly because of COVID-19.

What would you advise for me to begin my hunt for a new job ASAP given the situation.

I'm an associate who has 3 years experience at a BB previously.

I am sorry for what you’re going through. No doubt this is tough. A couple of options: 1) try for a different coverage team (FIG is usually receptive); 2) cold-call / email a few early stage start ups that have had some traction with VC funding (just email the ceo and see if he’d be open to chat). Sometimes All the positionS aren’t advertised. Whatever you chose, If your finances permit, I would seriously consider doing a MBA. Better to go to a US school but if you’re in Europe, insead would be a good option.

man that is fuckin rough, I’m really sorry to hear that
