To Lie or Not to Lie: "Are You Interviewing For Other Firms?"
So here's my predicament. I, through the grace of god and judaism, have managed to land interviews with 4 great firms simultaneously in the current times. The problem is that I believe the quickest moving process will be the firm that I have the least relative interest in.
How do I play this when they ask me if I have any other processes I'm interviewing for? I feel like I can't just say no, because if I get an offer I'm going to want to try and take at least a week to see what type of traction I have for other interviews. Worst case scenario I'm leaning towards telling them I need a week to consider the offer, then telling them I can start in about a month. I'll finish out my other interviews and potentially renege, which will absolutely scorch a bridge but my highest interest role is in Management Consulting in an entirely different city and I feel that the impact on my life it would have justifies the headache it cause a blue-chip firm in calling back up a plan B candidate. How bad could this option backfire on me? Any smoother way to do this?
