What career path I should chose considering my skills?
Hello people, new user here. I am a sophomore majoring in Economics in the East Europe and at one of the leading universities. I am very interested in finance and mathematics. I really love calculus, DE or differential equations so I meet the least criteria of being a financial engineer. Currently, I am learning about derivatives (options, futures etc) and really enjoying it. In the future I would really like to work with those things but I don't know where to start. I just dont want to sit in front of the computer and be a quant. Can I become an asset manager or portfolio manager and help people to expand their portfolios using derivatives, bonds, stocks? Or do I really need to know how to code if I were to do this job? Also I really love macroeconomics and monetary policy, would economics knowledge help me if I were to be a financial engineer or asset manager? And honestly I dont even know what is the difference between those 2. Or can I get into hedge funds given my analytical skills? And I dont know the difference between and hedge fund analyst and portfolio analyst I searched for it they looked the same for me.
