what is my best plan of action

I am a senior from a non-target public university (3.5 GPA) majoring in accounting with work experience in small accounting positions, however this last summer I completed a Finance Summer Analyst program at a top Health Insurance company. My goal is to get into IB and if I don't I will probably end up accepting the return offer from the internship. Seeing as we are already nearing the end of Sep I'd like to know what my best plan of action would be to shoot for that unlikely shot. If anyone has any insight on what paths, banks, or strategies I should just avoid now because of timing or my situation it would help me greatly in terms of narrowing my vision and plan. Thanks.
