What the hell do I do now?

Class of 24 Cornell ILR. Extremely excited that I got into a target school for ib. I'm a little confused now about what I need to do to prepare myself for ib. First school. People have told me mixed opinions about Cornell ILR. Some have told me to transfer to ECON or AEM asap. Other people have told ILR places pretty well into IB (Linkedin), and I will have the ability to get a pretty high GPA and take a lot of business-related courses. Second Internships. What internships should I be looking to get my freshman and sophomore year? What should I avoid? (IB-boutique, PWM, PE?) Three ECs. Current clubs that I plan on doing are policy debate and Finance clubs. Also, in a leadership program at Cornell (50 students) and I will have the ability to be mentored by school deans, leaders, etc. What else should I do? (Join a frat, more quantitative stuff, etc.) Technical's. Best place to find the proper materials to study technical's.

I'm hella anxious right now and would like to use it this summer to boost my chances. Thanks

smoke a j, get blacked out off of cheap beer, wake up next to a solid 3.5 with a hangover and then run it back

fr tho if you interview anywhere you’d get dinged for having a boring ass personality if the only stuff in college you do is to help you get into ib

In all seriousness, if you’re already this worked up before even starting college, you’re probably fine. I’m at a non-target, started in medicine, and didn’t even know what banking was until sophomore year.

Am I interning this summer at GS TMT or MS M&A? No, but with a couple average internships, a good GPA, and a month of prep I still managed to get an SA offer with a BB in an industry group.

So unless you’re absolutely fixated on doing 2 years Goldman, 2 years at Apollo, 2 years Harvard, and then returning back to Apollo, I suggest you take a deep breath and relax for a little man.

Don’t screw around with grades, but give yourself at least a semester or two to just chill and enjoy being at college (assuming Corona doesn’t prevent this).
