What would happen if you tried this during a high-finance role interview?

Lets say that the candidate has the high stats: Harvard grad, 4.0 GPA, internships and etc...

But they acted in this way during the IB, PE, HF interview...

An interview is kinda like that lowkey. Of course, this is an exaggerated Hollywood portrayal of an interview, but applicants who understand an interview goes both ways often do a lot better in their job searches. Companies need top talent and then try to act like they're doing you a favor by giving you the time of day, but they recruit from schools that they make "target schools" because that's where they believe the best talent exists. There's more demand than supply for entry-level positions so they can afford to flex on you cause there are a million insecure hardos ready to suck some D for a job, but as you get higher up the corporate ladder it becomes more apparent that they want to suck your D as they try to poach you away from the competition. It's important to keep in the back of your head that you're interviewing them as well - even as an entry-level applicant interviewing for your first job. Don't look and act so desperate, ask them intelligent questions that make them think, and walk in there with the type of vibe that you have options. A little bit of confidence and self-worth goes a long way when talking with people. Even an intern or an analyst can own a room and control a conversation with an interviewer. At the end of the day, the person interviewing you is a human being, that goes to the bathroom and has to wipe just like you.

In another episode in Suits, the law firm lost its reputation, and Harvard Law School students didn't want to work there anymore so they got desperate. If target kids agreed in unison that they didn't want to work at a BB anymore then you would see BBs acting desperate and offering many more perks to lure them back and fix their reputation.
